Seashell at Laguna Key is a waterfront luxury new home in the gated community of Laguna Key at the end of West Beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Laguna Key is the only gated beachfront community in Gulf Shores. The community has private beach access, private lagoon access with two piers, a pool, a tennis court, and is bordered by the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge. Laguna Key is a gated beach front and lagoon front community at the very end of West Beach Boulevard in Gulf Shores.  The beach is to the south, the lagoon is to the north, and the Bon Secour Wildlife Refuge is to the west. It is situated in a quiet part of the beach, but is only a quick drive away from all the restaurants, festivals, and activities of Gulf Shores - it is just under 6 miles down the beach from The Hangout. The amenities of Laguna Key make it a perfect destination for family and friend vacations - beach boardwalk with gazebo, pool with bathrooms, tennis courts, pier onto the lagoon with gazebo, and quiet private interior streets behind the gated entrance. 

Arrive at Seashell and enter the home via the ground level front door, and enter our interior landing and stairway.  Once up the stairs you will arrive into the main living area and kitchen.  Professionally designed and decorated, this house is intended to help our guests relax and unwind in a luxurious and comfortable setting.  A large kitchen island, ship lap walls, multiple sitting areas, large dining table and spacious porches set the tone for gatherings of family and friends.

The kitchen is outfitted with an oven, stovetop with hood, refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher, commercial ice maker, microwave, beverage cooler, toaster, standard drip coffee maker,  blender, crock pot and electric griddle.  The drawers and cabinets are stocked with plenty of cups, mugs, flatware, silverware, knives, pots, pans, cooking sheets, stock pot, pyrex bakeware, and cooking utensils.

All of the TVs are Smart TVs. Instead of a standard cable subscription, the house is equipped with Hulu Live TV accessible on every TV (local channels and cable channels), and via Smart TV guests may access their Netflix, Amazon Prime, or any other streaming entertainment accounts.  Guests will access our fast high speed WiFi connection (free), and enjoy a smart TV in the bedrooms.

The primary gathering place of Seashell is the open floor plan kitchen, dining, living area, and front and back porches. There is a huge kitchen island seating for five, dining room table seating for eight, and seating for six at the back deck dining table. A sofa and chair face the main living area TV, and four chairs are set up facing the front windows toward the Lagoon. Outside the front door is a spacious front porch for taking in the cool breeze, beach views, and beautiful days at Seashell.

There are two Master bedroom suites at Seashell, one on the main floor and one on the second floor. Each has a wonderful king sized bed, double vanities in the bathrooms, shower, and water closets. On the second floor there are two additional bedrooms with queen beds and ensuite bathrooms.

Upstairs, there is a bunk room with two sets of built-in bunk beds. One of the sets are full over full bunks, and the other is a twin over twin bunk set.

Also upstairs is a secondary living area with a sleeper sofa, TV, and a covered porch overlooking Little Lagoon.

On the ground floor underneath the deck is a covered patio with a porch swing and adirondack chairs. We welcome guests to use our grill (propane), beach wagons (2) and beach chairs (4). The pool, tennis courts, and lagoon piers are less than a 1 minute walk from the house, and beach boardwalk is a 2 minute walk. Many guests bring or rent kayaks or stand up paddle boards to enjoy in the lagoon. Golf carts are also welcome in the neighborhood, and some guests like them for getting from the house to the beach, pool, and lagoon. There is designated golf cart parking at each of these locations, and these are great especially if you take a lot of stuff to the beach each day.  If you choose to rent a golf cart, we recommend Island Carts LLC as they will drop off and pick up your cart for you.

Laguna Key is a beach community for families and there are many full time residents who live in the community. The homeowners association has guidelines for renters that will be provided upon booking.  Particular areas of importance are as follows:

1. Parking. No street parking is allowed and cars not parked in our driveway or garage will be towed. A maximum of four cars may be parked in our driveway in addition to two cars in our garage. This rental has maximum parking for 6 vehicles.  No boats, trailers, or RVs are allowed in Laguna Key.

2. Beach access. The only access to the beach is via the community beach boardwalk in the center of the community across from the pool. Do not cross any dunes or across any private property to access the beach. All of the beachfront lots are private property, including the ones that do not have houses built currently.

3. Amenities access. Only individuals staying in your rental may use the Laguna Key amenities such as the pool, lagoon piers, and beach access.

4. Age. Renters must be at least 25 years old, and there must be at least one 25 or older individual present at this rental during your entire stay. If this is in question during your stay it will be checked by security and any parties in violation of this rule will have to leave immediately with no refund.

5. Noise.  No loud noise, outdoor parties, or loud music after 10 pm. 

Must be 25 to rent.  No smoking.  No pets.  Cancellation policy is full refund, minus card processing fees, up to 30 days prior to arrival.  50% refund up to 14 days prior to arrival.  No refunds if 14 days prior to arrival.  If all Alabama beaches close during the dates of a reservation due to COVID-19 concerns, then full refund minus card processing fees will be available to guests for cancellation after the 14 day window closes.

The owners have owned multiple homes in Laguna Key, and think it is the best place to stay in Gulf Shores. The privacy of the beach, bordered by the protected wildlife refuge, make it a perfect beach for relaxing and playing in the sand and water. Little Lagoon is a beautiful 9 mile wide body of water connected to the Gulf of Mexico via Lagoon Pass. It is surrounded by pine trees and the sunset is spectacular behind the Lagoon. We love that Seashell is waterfront on the Lagoon - great privacy and great views.

Forty-six and fifty hundredths percent (46.50%) of the total booking charges will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
